More and more people nowadays will use orthodontic treatment, and the number of people wearing retainers is on the rise. This product can further simplify the daily maintenance and cleaning of the retainer.

The principle of the cleaning machine is to remove food debris through water circulation and ultrasonic washing; the machine used for maintenance through sterilisation, circulation ventilation and the function of spraying fresheners ensure that the retainer is in the best condition before the user takes it out for use.

The machines can be placed in the charging box for wireless charging. The retainer case and the water tank can be nested with each other, which is convenient for users to take out.

My design provides an efficient and convenient maintenance experience for users who use retainers and also provides a sterile and breathable storage choice.
My final project aims to improve people's quality of life. After passing user research and market evaluation, it is determined that the product has certain market competitiveness. The most challenging part in the design process is the internal structure. It is necessary to ensure the perfect function and minimise the size of the machine. I used investigation, one-to-one modelling, physical circuit simulation, CAD and other methods to implement the final plan step by step. In addition, users' opinions are also taken into consideration to improve the final function and appearance.
I hope to be able to work on the design of smart appliances for life, and find a balance between high technology and user experience.
