Kink, a foundation bottle refill device
Annually billions of bottles containing colour cosmetics go to land fill. There is a consumer push for more sustainable makeup options, while retaining product quality and retail experience. Brands must be able to guarantee the products comply with all regulations and there is no risk of contamination. A self-contained sterilisation and refill station allows consumers to be environmentally conscious and retailers to have safety assurance.
Obble, a plate to prompt technology detox at meal times
Obble is a dining set designed to minimise phone use at mealtimes. The plate will not sit flat on the table unless the users phone is under the plate and out of use.

The bottles used in the kink refill system
The customer brings their bottle back to the makeup counter for a refill. High pressured water is pumped into the bottle, this will physically remove any makeup on the inside of the bottle. UV light is then used to sterilise the bottle before it is filled with the customers desired shade and finish of makeup. Meanwhile the inky list is updated with the new formulation.
Refill station
The back of the refill station opens to allow the water to be changed and for maintenance to take place.

I am motivated by collaboratively creating unexpected solutions and novel experiences to improve our day to day lives.
In my design work I like to create fun and unexpected experiences for users. I love to play with concepts, seeing something develop from a few ideas to a fully formed design is hugely rewarding. Especially when you end up a million miles from where you would have anticipated the project to go. During my year in industry I worked as part of the Packaging Technology team for Molton Brown. In this role I learnt a considerable amount about manufacturing and the process of making a design real and bringing it to market. Throughout the year I was able to manage my own projects, I worked with suppliers to bring concepts to store. Additionally, part of my role was innovation, here I was able to come up with new fragrance formats to present to the wider business.
