Augmented reality

Augmented reality

Using AR technology, an animated game environment is overlaid onto the user’s surrounding space. AR Object Recognition confirms each Pulse sensor is placed exactly in the required position. The total distance moved and tightness of turns is calculated to give a movement score specific to each layout.

Charging carry case

Charging carry case

The Pulse sensors magnetically fix onto a portable charging dock when not in use.

Georgina Mackenzie

I am a forward thinking individual with a profound interest in innovation. Having developed an interest in user needs and aesthetics, I hope to continue engaging in problem solving and further develop as a designer.

Children in the UK spend an average 15 hours a week playing video games such as Fortnite. Increased access to entertainment and digital play has fundamentally changed children’s movement patterns, isolating them indoors, most often in chairs. I was inspired by my cousins children who are passionate gamers, to take on the challenge of designing a product that combats the issues associated with prolonged gaming.

Final year project

Reducing the negative effects of prolonged console gaming by allowing active game play away from screens.
