ALP BAK snow sports back protector and removable backpack
Back Protectors are not widely used amongst recreational skiers and boarders although they can greatly improve safety. The wearing of a back protector and a rucksack together can be bulky and inconvenient. My system combines the two products encouraging the use of back protectors through comfort and convenience. It combines a back protector held by a harness which also holds a removable rucksack, thus enabling the use of the back protector on its own.
Removing the ALP BAK bag from the harness
The purpose designed quick release latching system secures the rucksack to the harness whilst still enabling convenient attachment and removal.
ALP BAK helmet and emergency equipment carrying system
The rucksack system has space for carrying avalanche safety gear, attaching a helmet and for daily supplies. Colour coded sections enable easy access of emergency gear in low visibility.
ALP BAK harness straps with GoPro clips
The shoulder straps of the harness have GoPro clips on each shoulder to attach a GoPro. This avoids the need for a GoPro chest harness as well as wearing a rucksack, so avoiding multiple shoulder straps. There is a clip on each shoulder so the GoPro can be attached to either side, meaning snowboarders can wear it on their front shoulder whether they are goofy or regular footed.
ARMA student home security system
ARMA is a modular home security system for students and tennants. The system is completely removable leaving no trace of fixings and can be used again. It can be expanded by adding more sensors to fit new homes. The system has sensors to fit doors and windows, and a PIR sensor to detect intruders. There is a camera to monitor the entrances and exits, this can be mounted to a window with a sucker. The home hub has a finger print scanner for setting and disarming the alarm.
ARMA home security alarm system room sensors
The ARMA room sensors come with a stand for placing on convenient surfaces or a plug for placing them in electrical sockets in commonly used areas of the house.
Georgina Lea Hall
I have developed my skills in Industrial Design though studies of fine art, photography, textiles and 3D Design which have culminated in my current project.
I am a collaborative designer who enjoys working within a team to create products for production. I have a good understanding of manufacturing processes and their design requirements through my year long placement at LEGO in Denmark. Here I designed new elements and was responsible for taking them into production, and they are now available in stores. I have particular interests in prototyping, designing for manufacture and manufacturing methods and wish to pursue this in the future.
