Vita
Meet Vita, a healthy lifestyle assistant and smart chopping board that sits at the heart of the home, making it easier than ever to prepare, cook, portion and track new healthy meals.
Vita - health hub
Vita uses personal profiles to calculate healthy diets based on optimal calorie consumption, portion sizes and best foods to eat, while tracking your eating habits and routines as you cook.
Vita - sense board
By selecting who you are cooking for Vita can optimise the food quantities you use, so everyone in the home gets the perfect sized meal for them while reducing excess food that would go to waste.
Vita - health hub exploded
The health hub features an intuitive touch screen allowing users to navigate through the UI and control the product. Wireless charging is also integrated to charge the sense board when docked.
Vita - sense board exploded
The smart chopping board uses built in force sensors allowing it to weigh and provide real time nutritional information on the foods placed upon it, helping educate users while they cook.
Vita - user experience
Vita can help to purchase groceries, see what food you have in the home, find, cook and share new meals, track your eating habits and more, right from the display or using voice.
Vita - packaging
Vita has been designed to create a desirable, elegant and exciting user experience, from the second the user opens the box through to the products colour, materials and finishes.
Charley Bircumshaw
In everything I do I believe in thinking differently. I do this by creating products and brands which are beautiful, innovative and authentic.
How do I create products, brands and experiences that people connect with? Having a user-centred design process aids me in understanding a user’s wants, needs and motivations. Primary and secondary research phases allow me to gather insights which ground the problem, find gaps in the market and uncover new opportunities. An iterative design process allows me to develop products through multiple concepts leading to desirable and meaningful solutions. Being educated and practiced in graphic design, industrial design and creative marketing has given me a broad skillset that I use to communicate and present products that connect with the consumer through high-end visualisations and branding. Having kickstarted my career as a designer working within a London based design consultancy and as a freelancer, I am excited to continue creating beautiful products, expanding my skill set and relationships after completing my degree at Loughborough.

The most relevant of these would be my placement year as a Junior Designer at Paperhat Creative, my current role as Marketing officer in Loughborough Student Union and my continued work as a freelance designer.
