Case - freedom to travel
Case envisions the future of luggage and how luggage might evolve to become something that travels separately from its owner. Streamlining the travel experience, reducing stress, whilst also minimising costly infrastructure. The 'Case' is provided to you as part of a on-demand service where it will be delivered from your home to your destination, replacing the need to own and travel with luggage.
Case - leveraging technology
The smart lid leverages two-way wireless charging to power and update its electrical lock, e-ink display, digital scale and RFID. All without the need for an internal battery.
Case - a custom experience
With an empty case provided, users are able to own their own inner linings allowing for efficient packing for their comfort and style.
Case - optimised for logistics
Case is optimally formed for the logistics industry, enabelling efficient and flexible handling aimed at driving down cost and delivery time.
Case - exploded view
Case protects the traveller’s belongings through an aluminium unibody structure securely supporting it's items throughout transit.
Case - a tailored service
The service is optimised for seamless transportation across the logistics industry ensuring that the case is always shipped to the destination ahead of the traveller.
Case - a transparent experience
Case will notify you when its last been opened, its weight and its progress on route all in a simplified app experience.
UX design
I have worked on several other UX projects leveraging the latest software technologies. Project themes ranged from enhancing mobility to re-designing democracy and building community resilience.
Arnaud Gillard
I am a multi-disciplinary designer driven by the desire to leverage technology to create socially and environmentally sound solutions to complex problems.
I am curious, forward-thinking and keen to understand the bigger picture whilst also bringing focus, pragmatism and execution to the final proposals. Working at IBM has strengthened my approach to complex problems, pursuing insight-led solutions whilst leveraging enterprise design thinking practices in an iterative process. My approach in identifying both problems and solutions has allowed me to explore strategic, forward-thinking designs with the user always at the centre of the process. My passion for design and technology has evolved with a particular focus on User Experience design, where I can continue to envision how we can live, use and interact with technology.
