Modular coffee machine [Read more]
The four possible configurations of a modular coffee machine
This modular coffee machine allows the user to specialise their coffee machine to best suit their preferred coffee style. The base module simply makes great espresso. An additional steam module can be added to froth milk or dispense hot water. An additional bean grinding module can be added to dispense freshly ground coffee. Or both modules can be added for a fully upgraded machine.
Coffee bean grinder function
To use the coffee bean grinder the module is rotated 90 degrees which causes the button to illuminate. The portafilter is placed underneath and when the button is pressed the grinder dispenses 18g of ground coffee - perfect for a single espresso.
Adding extra modules
The additional modules are added to the base unit simply by sliding over the top of the water tank.
Drip tray removal
The grooves in the drip tray are angled so that any spillages will collect at the back of the tray. The drip tray is held in place by two small magnets on the base making it removable for cleaning.
