Final prototype
There are currently no input devices dedicated to optimising the experience of making a digital diagnosis by a pathologist. The proposed device aims to solve this issue by providing a dedicated input device to aid the process of making a digital pathology diagnosis. Using a combination of dials, users can now navigate through a digital image in a more optimised manner. This helps improve the pathologist’s experience of making a digital diagnosis.
Functional prototype
Throughout the project fully functional prototypes were produced and were then tested with users. The insights gained from user testing helped dictate the direction of the project.
Aura - a modular fragrance unit
Aura was created in a week, responding to a brief set by Seymour Powell. The product provides a modular alternative to candles, improving safety within the home.
Sketch development
Sketch development is a vital part of my design process, allowing me to quickly generate concepts. This product responds to a brief set by Hubbub, aiming to engage inner city users with air quality issues. The smart device allows users to track and improve air quality within the home.

Throughout my design work I am able to tackle challenges by providing creative solutions. I spent my industrial placement year at one of London’s most exciting start-ups, gaining additional design/project management experience across the company. I have combined academic study with representative rugby and participated in the England Universities Rugby League pathway. This has enhanced my organisation and management skills, as my rugby position involves directing and instructing my team-mates. As part of my final year project, I worked closely with medical professionals and was able to work across disciplines to provide solutions to their clinical challenges. I look forward to developing my design skills and continuting to challenge my self in further creative endeavours.

Experience
Whilst working with SYSPAL engineers I shadowed the design team watching them work on a project for The Dogs Trust, gaining valuable insights into the design process. This experience allowed me to see the design process from beginning to end. I follow the whole process from receiving the order, developing and changing the specification of the order, satisfying the client’s needs, through to designing the product and modelling it in SolidWorks before going onto the factory floor and seeing how the manufacturing process worked.
