Contacting Mountain Rescue is now possible from anywhere
Using GPS and GLONASS satellite technology the user can contact emergency services from anywhere in the world, ensuring they are never out of touch in the event they require aid, evacuation or assistance of another kind.
Uploading injury information to help the emergency services dispatch the correct teams and hardware
After uploading their injury information they are offered advice on how to treat the injury as best they can until help arrives. The user profile ensures the dispatch operator automatically has all the user's key information at hand such as age, weight, pre-exsisting medical conditions etc.
The TPE over-moulded keypad
The keypad has been tested for use with gloves, wet hands and cold hands to simulate low blood pressure and other effects of shock. The material choice ensures the device is sealed from the elements in all possible environments.
External TPE over moulding ensures it can take the hardest of knocks and still be operational to seek help
The TPE shell was chosen for its physical and sustainable properties, it can be used in a zero waste production line and offers all of the same technical qualities that ensured silicone rubber was so popular in outdoor gear.
The device can be used in numerous formats, with custom lanyards and carabiners to ensure the user is as comfortable as possible
The ultra running and thru-hiking communities span generations, with just as many retirees as college age adults, on top of this, endurance athletes are incredibly particular about their equipment, and this system allows them to make sure they are safe and secure at all times.
Charlie Watts
Runners and hikers stranded through injury or disorientation are responsible for half of the search and rescue operations around the world. By giving the the emergency services access to information such as the location of the person to be rescued and the severity of their injury the correct emergency service response can be administered.
Industrial Design has been a huge part of my life since I was a kid. For my final degree project I knew I wanted to combine my love of exploring the outdoors with my core industrial design skills and user-centred design know how.

Experience
I have held a number of roles within the sphere of design and craftsmanship. I have always used my holidays as a chance to learn new skills and challenge myself in new environments. I undertake freelance graphic design work, completed work experience with architects and worked as a Workshop Assistant for a number of artisans including Terrence Conran’s Benchmark Furniture, Savernake Knives and Sculpture Sioban Coppinger. I now feel confident undertaking tasks in multiple disciplines such as fine woodworking along with numerous casting and metal work processes.
