realdye
Natural Dyeing is where sources such as plants, minerals, and insects are used to dye textiles. There is a growing trend in natural dyeing due to the unique colours created and the possibility to come that little bit closer to nature. Dyeing enthusiasts are aware of the environmental impact synthetic chemicals are causing when used to manufacture clothing. In fact, 20% of industrial water pollution comes directly from fabric dyes and treatments.
realdye - temperature control
Precise temperature control will help to reduce the risk of the dye source being spoilt due to overheating.
realdye - experiment
This product encourages dyers to experiment with new materials and ingredients and improve their current recipes on a small scale within their own home to then replicate on a larger scale.
realdye - detail
The design is vacuum insulated to reduce energy consumption when heating the water. The insulation chamber is made from glass to allow the user to see their unique colour develop.
realdye - research
Research was undertaken with experts from the natural dye industry to gain insights to help develop the product.
